Controlled Rate Freezer
The CBS 2101 Controlled Rate Freezer ensures samples are frozen at a precise, optimal rate to help prevent lethal intracellular freezing and improve viability. It provides reproducible, traceable freezing results for cell culture and biobank samples prior to long-term storage in LN₂ freezers or PHCbi -150°C ULT freezers.
The CBS 2101 Controlled Rate Freezer is designed to freeze samples at a controlled, reproducible rate, helping protect sample integrity and viability during the transition to long-term cryogenic storage.
Limitless programs can be set to advance sample or chamber temperature, with up to 30 data fields available for each run. Six common pre-set programs are provided as standard.
Use the largest touchscreen controller in its class to execute a wide range of preset and variable programming capabilities.
67-liter volume inside the chamber delivers more batch capacity to freeze: 104 50mL bags / 272 canes / 2166 2mL vials / 100 cassettes.
Temperatures can be programmed from +50°C to -180°C, with cooling rates from 0.01°C/min to 99.9°C/min. Final temperatures can also be held after completion of the freezing program.
Controlled freezing profiles support consistent, traceable outcomes for sensitive samples.
Compatible with cane, vial or bag canister racks depending on the application.
